Darryl Desjarlais
Darryl has been an umpire for 12 years, the last 9 with Little League. He was an umpire for the 2012 Canadian Little League Major Championships in Edmonton, and attended the 2013 Western Region Little League Umpire School in San Bernardino. Darryl has umpired every Prairie or Provincial championship since 2010, including home plate duties for a number of those. He was the Umpire Coordinator for District 2 from 2013 to 2016.
Dave Williams
Dave started as a volunteer umpire at Confederation Park in 1980 and has been working games there ever since. Those early days were in the company of Bud Hughes, Ralph Bush, John Jordaan and others under the direction of Jack Brown and Warren Garbutt. Dave was selected for the umpiring crew of the 2012 Canadian Little League Major Championship in Edmonton and is again looking forward to being a part of the Canadian Senior Championship in Edmonton this summer.
Dean Fargey
With 32 years of experience umpiring in District 2 Little League, Dean has experience umpiring numerous Prairie Championships at the Major, Senior and Big League levels and experience at multiple Canadian Championships at the Major (1997, 2012) and Senior (1991) levels. Dean began umpiring when he was still playing baseball at sixteen years old, and hasn’t looked back. Dean has attended Umpire Clinics in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and continues to umpire for all leagues within District 2.
Dr. Duncan MacDougall
Duncan began his career in 1966 as a base umpire with Baseball Alberta. In 1970, he began umpiring and coaching with Little League Canada in Edmonton West. Duncan has over 40 years’ experience coaching and umpiring in Edmonton West, Confederation Park, South Jasper Place, East Park and Community Park Little Leagues. He has umpired the Canadian Championship Tournaments in Majors (1989, 2012), Juniors (1987), and in Big League (1977). In 1989, Duncan represented Canada as an umpire at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He has attended Little League instructional schools in Williamsport and in Indianapolis. Duncan has also been the Assistant District Administrator in Alberta District 2 and in that capacity chaired a Prairie Region Junior Division Tournament. Duncan has served multiple times as Umpire-in-Chief for Edmonton West, South Jasper Place and District 2.
Gary Soon
Gary is the current Umpire-in-Chief for District 2, and Umpire Director for the 2018 Canadian Senior Championship. With over 30 years of experience, Gary has accomplished numerous achievements as an umpire. He has attended the Western Region Little League Umpire School in San Bernardino and has participated as a umpire in numerous District 2 playoffs, Prairie Championships and Canadian Championships for the Major, Junior, Senior and Big League divisions. Gary was chosen to participate as an umpire in the 2008 Canadian Little League Championship in Sidney Mines, Nova Scotia, and in the 2004 Alberta Summer Games.
Greg Vince
Greg has been a Little League Umpire for 22 years. 17 of those years have been with District 2, Confederation Park. The last 5 years have been spent with District 3, Airdrie and Calgary. In 2016, Greg served as Umpire-in-Chief for Airdrie Little League. Greg was an umpire for the Canadian Little League Major Championship in Edmonton in 2012.
John Kawulok
This is John’s first season umpiring for Little League. He is excited to have the opportunity to learn from some of the best Umpires in Alberta and to be a part of the 2018 Canadian Senior Championship in Edmonton. He has been involved with baseball for 12 years, as a player and coach.
Kevin Adams
Kevin has been an umpire for Little League since 2012, officiating games at all levels. In 2014, he attended the Western Region Little League Umpire School in San Bernardino to further hone his skills. He has worked numerous local, provincial, and regional championships and assists in the instruction and development of new umpires. Kevin enjoys baseball, officiating hockey, downhill skiing, and big screen movies and is looking forward to working and supporting the 2018 Canadian Senior Championship in Edmonton.
Sharon Chapman
Sharon began umpiring for Little League in 2011. In 2013, she attended the Western Region Little League Umpire School in San Bernardino to develop her skills as an umpire and instructor. From 2012 to 2015 she served as the Umpire-in-Chief for Confederation Park Little League and was on the Board for District 2 in 2014. Sharon has officiated games at all levels and has been training and developing new umpires for District 2 since 2013. Sharon loves baseball and has been an avid fan from her days playing as a kid to watching her son play. She is looking forward to the 2018 Canadian Senior Championship as a way to further develop as an umpire and support Little League Canada.
Stewart Sehn
Currently, Stewart the Umpire-in-Chief for Community Park Little League, a position he has held for 15 years. In 1991, Stewart helped to start Community Park Little League and since then has umpired house league, City Playoffs, and AB Prairie Playoffs every year. Stewart has also umpired Alberta Summer Games and Canadian Championships at both the Major (2012) and Big League (2000) levels. In 2002 he attended the Little League instructional school in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
